On November 3, the University of Arizona officially launched Fuel Wonder, an ambitious $3 billion dollar fundraising campaign. The announcement came on the heels of reports and media coverage detailing the university’s financial outlook.

Since that time, we’ve heard from a number of you – our friends, supporters, alumni and important advocates. You’ve reached out with the question on all our minds: What does this mean for the College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences?

Like you, we are following the situation very closely. The university has put together a financial updates webpage where we can stay up to date on the issue and the work being done to ensure the financial health and success of our institution.

While we await more information, CALES’ steadfast commitment to our mission remains—to produce employable graduates, advance purpose-driven science, and work alongside communities to improve lives and livelihoods.

"CALES has always borne the standard for the Land-grant ideal. Generations of our students and employees have been critical leaders, innovators, and economic drivers not only in Arizona, but worldwide,” said Shane Burgess, Vice President & Charles-Sander Dean.

As we all work to fuel wonder, we want to assure you that all designated gifts for the college made through the UA Foundation remain separate from the university and will directly support our mission. It is our shared commitment to our students and communities that matters most. Now more than ever, we thank you for your continued support. You help us grow a more sustainable future.
